At Durrington High School, we are proud to celebrate the fantastic achievements of our students through our Durrington Champions initiative. Each month, we recognise students who demonstrate a real passion for their subject, work incredibly hard and consistently strive to be the best they can be.
This month, we are shining a spotlight on our PE Champions, celebrating students who have shown outstanding effort, commitment and enthusiasm both in lessons and through extra-curricular sport.
A huge congratulations to Charlie, Archie, Ben and Jack, who have all been fantastic sports captains. Charlie has shown excellent dedication to his role, regularly volunteering to support clubs and even refereeing two after-school fixtures for staff members. Archie has proudly represented Durrington across multiple sports and is a fantastic role model, regularly supporting our Year 7 football club. Ben has also been a committed sports captain, regularly helping at Year 7 football club while representing the school with pride in the rugby team. Jack has made an excellent contribution since becoming a sports captain at the end of last year, building positive relationships with younger students and supporting Year 7 football and several events beyond school.
We are also celebrating Alfie and Zach for their hard work and enthusiasm across a range of sports. Alfie demonstrates excellent sporting knowledge and a real passion for PE, while Zach consistently works hard and shows a positive attitude.
Rafferty deserves recognition for his excellent effort and behaviour in lessons, as well as his confidence in practical activities, particularly basketball. Teddy has also had a brilliant year in PE, taking the exciting step of joining the school football team and scoring his first goal!
Finally, congratulations to Hollie and Mia for their fantastic contributions to GCSE PE. Hollie consistently demonstrates excellent effort across all aspects of the subject, including extra-curricular activities. Mia has made a brilliant start to GCSE PE and has also been an outstanding sports captain, making valuable contributions to extra-curricular sport.
We are incredibly proud of all our PE Champions. Their dedication, teamwork, positive attitudes and willingness to support others perfectly reflect our Durrington Ethos of Kindness, Aspiration, Perseverance and Pride.
Well done to everyone recognised this month, and keep up the fantastic work!
