Eight Year 10 students visited the Better Business Show at Worthing Leisure Centre, where they had the opportunity to explore a wide range of local companies and speak directly with business representatives.

Students began by walking around the exhibition to learn more about the organisations attending before choosing businesses they particularly wanted to investigate. They held conversations with employers including Bacon & Co, Mindworks and Blue Billboard, asking questions about what their businesses do, how they are structured, how they market themselves and the skills they look for in future employees.

The students represented the school extremely well and grew in confidence as they moved around the show. Particularly impressively, two students came away with promising leads for possible future work experience placements.

The visit provided a valuable introduction to the real world of business and was an excellent practical starting point for the students as they begin their GCSE Business course this term.
