On Thursday the 3rd of July, Durrington’s own performing arts centre was shook to the rafters by the music of over 70 performers ranging from different soloists, duets, bands and the KS3 Drama Club.
The 2025 end of term extravaganza aimed to provide a platform for the wonderful talent that we have in Performing Arts. The night kicked off with a stellar performance from the Year 9 band performing ‘You Give Love A Bad Name’ and finalised with Durrington’s Finest performing a set of ‘Message In A Bottle’ and ‘Aeroplane’.
Sandwiched between the two came tear jerking pop ballads like ‘Wildflower’, ‘Birds of a Feather’ and ‘Slipping Through My Fingers’, and thundering drum solos from Nirvana. It was wonderful to see over 30 members of KS3 Drama Club performing an extract of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’.
A special mention must go to the many Year 11 musicians who spent so much time making this evening possible and such a success. Thank you and wishing you all the best for the future. You will be missed!
We would also like to thank our audience for coming along to support and applaud our fabulous students, and also for your lovely comments after the show.
Oh wow, what a talented bunch you have at Durrington!
I was so, so proud of my son and thought that his band absolutely rocked it!
Brilliant acting and some really great comic timing!
Hearing the beautiful songs by the choir whilst simultaneously realising that they were original compositions by the pianist! Amazing!!!
A drummer that was probably up there with some of the best that I’ve ever heard, like ever. That guy has the most amazing future in front of him. Such energy, what an amazing performance!
