We are so proud of all our year 11 Art & Graphics students who went on The British Museum trip on Tuesday 10th October. A sunny London greeted us as we walked through into the impressive ‘Great Court’ at the museum. Graphics students sketched in the Mitsubishi Corporation Japanese Galleries, looking at ancient and modern Japanese art and artefacts.
Our Art students explored the many ancient Greek and Roman statues dating from around 2000 years ago. After sketching from life, reconstructed temples and sculptures from the Parthenon (showing the birth of Athena and accompanying deities) we all enjoyed the nice weather while having a break for our packed lunch.
Students behaved in an exemplary way and produced work they can be very proud of. Thanks to all the staff who helped make the day happen and run so smoothly. Well done everyone.
