Young Geographer of the Year Competition

This year 12 Durrington High School students entered the Royal Geographical Society’s ‘Young Geographer of the Year’ competition – a national competition that encourages geography students to explore the world beyond the national curriculum. They were tasked with creating an A3 poster on at least two rivers of their choice. They explored the physical processes that shape the rivers, as well as the human connections that have developed our societies.

All students produced incredibly informative and creative posters and had the chance to discuss their work with our Co-Headteachers, Mr Alison and Mr Woodcock. We were so impressed by the standard of work produced by all the students. We wish them best of luck in the competition!

If your child would like to take part in the next ‘Young Geographer of the Year’ competition, entries will open from May 2027. Their geography teachers will give them more information about how to enter next year.
