Durrington High School Colour Run 2026!

Durrington High School held its very first Colour Run on 16 July and, as with everything Durrington does, we went big!

The event began with a challenging and exciting section of the course featuring five 60-foot inflatable assault courses. Many students enjoyed the opportunity to tackle the course more than once, with the inflatables, slides and tunnels proving to be a huge hit.

Then came the Colour Zone! Students ran through clouds of colourful paint thrown by their tutors and teachers as they made their way through the course with their friends. There was plenty of laughter, excitement and, of course, lots of paint!

We even managed to capture a whole-year-group photograph at the end of the Colour Zone—not an easy task with more than 160 students! By this point, many of them were almost unrecognisable beneath the colourful paint.

Once the Colour Zone had finished, students celebrated the end of the school year in colourful style with a BBQ and ice cream outside our Pavilion in the afternoon sunshine. There was plenty of time for photos, laughter and admiring just how colourful everyone had become.

Our Year 10 students have really stepped up at the end of this academic year. They have attended revision sessions for all their mock exams and worked incredibly hard to achieve their best. We are incredibly proud of the commitment and effort they have shown.

This event was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate them as a year group. Seeing more than 160 students come together, enjoying themselves and sharing in the excitement of the day, highlighted the strong sense of belonging within the year group. It was fantastic to see them celebrating their achievements together and creating such positive memories as they reach the end of Year 10.

And now, with the first Durrington Colour Run complete, we can start planning for the 2027 event!
