Year 8 Geography Work Experience Workshop

In partnership with Hemiko, Year 8 geographers recently completed an exciting work experience project, which challenged them to design a sustainable future for Worthing. Students explored how low-carbon energy, environmental planning and innovative design could help shape the town in years to come, presenting their ideas through models and posters.

After launching the project earlier this term, Hemiko returned to school this week to help students reflect on the competition and announce the winning entries. The quality of work produced was extremely impressive, with the winning students receiving a certificate and a £20 voucher to spend in Worthing town centre.

Rosie Rees, Connections Development Manager at Hemiko, commented that the standard of work was very high and that every student who took part had done brilliantly.

We are incredibly proud of all of the students who took part. Their creativity, enthusiasm and thoughtful ideas made this a fantastic project, and we hope the experience has helped students to consider how Geography connects to the world of work and the wide range of future careers linked to sustainability, planning, engineering and environmental change.
