Last week, 70 Year 9 students enjoyed an exciting Geography Department trip to Port Lympne Safari Park in Kent.
During a thrilling safari adventure across the rolling Kentish landscape, students encountered a wide variety of animals and had the opportunity to question their expert tour guide, gaining fascinating insights into the species, their habitats, and the importance of conservation.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity to deepen their understanding of the world’s ecosystems and the complex processes and relationships that exist within them. It also brought classroom learning to life by reinforcing topics currently being studied in Year 9.
In addition, the trip offered students an early introduction to the GCSE Geography Living World unit, giving them a taste of the content they could explore further at KS4.
The day was both educational and memorable, inspiring curiosity about the natural world while supporting students’ geographical knowledge and understanding.
