Battle of the Bands Final Delivers Unforgettable Night as Amplified Takes the Crown
With finalists chosen from two competitive heats, this year’s Battle of the Bands delivered a line-up that simply couldn’t be missed. Returning to judge the event was an expert panel of industry professionals: Dom O’Brien (lead singer of Murdoch’s Crazy Eyes), Oz Dechaine (music lecturer and musician), Mike Saunders (musician, producer, and owner of The Playroom, Arundel), and Durrington’s own Emily Isham (Director of Performing Arts).
The final saw Razorwire, No Boys Allowed, Amplified, and Slither take to the stage, each competing for the prize of a full day in a professional recording studio at The Playroom, Arundel.
Opening the night, Razorwire delivered an electrifying set, covering tracks from Blur, Green Day, and more. They were followed by No Boys Allowed, whose fiery attitude and high-energy performance brought hits from artists including 4 Non-Blondes and Miley Cyrus to life.
Next came the wildcard act, Amplified – voted back in by popular demand after narrowly missing out in the heats. With clear anticipation from the crowd, they rose to the occasion, performing powerful renditions of songs by Evanescence, Muse, Paramore, and more.
Closing the evening was Slither, who impressed both audience and judges with their stage presence and creativity – encouraging the crowd to light up the room with phone torches. Their set featured Guns N’ Roses classics, with a standout mention to Harley Winter for his impressive guitar solos.
After careful deliberation, the judges announced Amplified as the winners of Battle of the Bands 2025–2026, earning the coveted recording session prize.
Congratulations to Amplified, and a huge thank you to all the bands, students, and staff who made the event such a success. We’re already looking forward to Battle of the Bands 2026-2027!
