Carol Concert at St Andrew’s Church

Durrington High School’s annual Carol Concert at St Andrew’s Church in Tarring was a wonderful festive occasion, bringing together students, staff, families, friends and members of the local community for an enjoyable evening of music and reflection.

The school choir performed beautifully, filling the church with confident and uplifting singing, while students delivered the readings with maturity and clarity. The musicians, Sophie Hopkins, Jamie Ward and Harry Ward who accompanied the choir also impressed throughout the evening, adding depth and atmosphere to the programme. A special mention goes to James, whose skillful playing of the church organ truly enhanced the concert and helped create a memorable setting.

It was heartening to see so many people come along to support the students and share in the festive spirit. Thanks to the generosity of those who attended, just under £100 was raised for local charity Turning Tides, making the evening not only enjoyable but meaningful as well.

Miss Maughan, head of music at Durrington High, said: “The students performed brilliantly, our choir and musicians are super talented and extremely professional at all times. They truly encapsulate the Durrington values and what this festive season is all about, through their kindness and pride in themselves, and each other. I am very proud of each and every student who participated in the Carol Service and am very grateful for the hard work and time they put in.”

Our thanks go to the St Andrew’s community for once again hosting our annual Christmas Concert event.
