Iceland Trip 2025

The geography department took thirty-eight students in years 10 and 11 to Iceland during the Easter break. Iceland is one of the most geographically fascinating countries in the world with an abundance of physical geological features which were of fascination to our students. It is a land of active volcanoes, cascading waterfalls, erupting geysers, awe inspiring glaciers and geothermal features, wrapped up in a centuries-old uniquely Nordic culture. Iceland is unrivalled for multi-disciplinary geographical learning anywhere on Earth and our students had a trip of a lifetime.

‘The trip was an enlightening experience of nature that you couldn’t experience anywhere but in Iceland. We saw many different natural wonders; waterfalls, geysers and even a dormant volcano. My favourite part of the trip was the lava show where they created real lava and poured it out in front of us. Overall, it was both lots of fun and helped me hone my knowledge of geography.’ Isabel

‘I enjoyed going to all the places and looking at everything. The whole trip was so well planned out and we saw lots of waterfalls and lots of beaches. We also climbed a glacier and went to a lava show which was really interesting. On the last day we got to explore Reykjavik and we went in lots of stores. The food was very nice and I definitely recommend going on this trip because it is such a great experience.’ Mylie

‘I really enjoyed seeing these natural wonders of the world as it was really gorgeous. It also let me see environments that were very different to the UK’s.’ Awen

‘I really enjoyed Iceland as it was a very naturally immersive country with beautiful waterfalls, glaciers and mountains. The trip was also a great way to build stronger bonds and connections with your peers. I would recommend for any year 9 or 10 students to sign up.’ Scarlett
