Berlin Trip 2025

Forty of our KS4 students travelled to Berlin over the East holidays and took part in a trip of a lifetime exploring the sites of the city whilst deepening their knowledge and understanding of Germany and Cold War topics covered in their History GCSE. During their three-night stay they visited the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp and took a walking tour on WW2 and the Cold War. They also visited the Allied Museum, as well as the Stasi Prison and the Berlin Wall Memorial. Before their departure on their final day, they also got to visit The Wall Museum, the East Side Gallery and the Reichstag building before heading for the airport and returning to the UK.

‘Berlin was an amazing experience that not only helped me a lot for my upcoming GCSE exam but was also filled with a lot of fun moments and activities. I would highly recommend the trip for any students considering it, and for me highlights were the Olympic Stadium and the Berlin Wall Museum. Thank you to the teachers who sacrificed their long weekend to take us around Berlin.’ Matilda

‘I really enjoyed my trip to Berlin. We went to really interesting places that helped emphasise how awful the experiences the German people went through. I enjoyed the walking tours especially since the tour guides gave personal stories to make history feel more real.’ Ella

‘The Berlin history trip was really interesting, we visited so many places including a prison of war camp and a concentration camp which was really moving. We saw the Berlin Wall and how the two different sides lived without contact with each other. We also tried lots of different foods and I liked the pretzels.’ Oli

‘Berlin was a very interesting place; we went to a concentration camp and a prisoner of war camp and it was interesting to say the least.’ Jaydon
