Year 7 SME

During the first half of the Spring term our year 7s have been looking at how the body changes through puberty, what to expect and where to go for advice and guidance. The second half of the term focused on how to keep safe online and looked at the use of social media, the spread of fake news, and the dangers of grooming.

After the Easter holidays year 7s will be focusing on the positive effects of healthy living. This topic explores exercise, balanced diets, mental wellbeing, personal hygiene, rest and sleep. In the second half of the Summer term the students will move on to look at the different types of prejudice and discrimination in society. Our year 7s will look at historic cases and how these were challenged, as well as looking at what is currently happening in society and around the world today and what can be done to stop this. This topic has a focus on the Equality Act 2010 and British Values.
