35 of our year 10 DofE students were out on the Angmering Estate for their third day hike, supported by 5 staff volunteers.
Some of the quieter and more observant students spotted Roe Deer amongst the trees during their walk, whilst others opted to play ‘stuck in the mud’ – only one casualty – a lost sole (of a boot)! Having navigated across the Estate to their half-way point each team pitched the tent they had carried.
Just as this activity was completed and the teams set off on their return leg we were passed by a stream of runners. The stream turned into a river – following the same path as a couple of our teams. This path is just wide enough for two walkers to pass each other on a good day. Our students stood aside – as the runners turned the path into a mud bog!
We all arrived at our finish location a lot muddier than when we started!
