INSET Day and Mufti Day

Dear Parents/Carers,

Re: Inset day (19th November) and Children in Need mufti day (Thursday 18th November)

Children in Need

We are delighted to let you know that our Senior Student Leadership Team have organised for us to have our first non-school uniform (mufti) day of the year to coincide with Children in Need on Thursday 18th November (Children in Need day is actually the next day when the school is on inset).   As normal we are asking for student and staff donations of £1 (either in cash or via parent mail) to take part in the day which we will pass on in-full to Children in Need.

As normal students are free to wear their own clothes on the day however the expectation will remain that:

  • There is no clothing worn with any slogans/messaging/symbols that could be interpreted to be offensive
  • Clothing should be appropriate to a school setting.   This means that for all students no revealing short or low cut or items should be worn and additionally no  midriffs should be seen.
  • No colouring of hair is acceptable although students are free (as a one off) to wear jewellery, nail polish etc should they wish to.
  • Students attend in their normal clothes if they wish, there is no fancy dress option.

We would very much appreciate you reminding your child of these expectations as we would not want to put them (or you) in a difficult position of having to send them home to change or cover up.

Inset day

Please also be reminded the school is closed for all students on Friday 19th November for staff training.

Kind regards

Mr C.Woodcock

Head of School
