Year 10 work experience

Dear parents/carers,

We were sad to announce at the start of last term that due to the ongoing situation and the impact on our local business community, we were unable to run the Y10 work experience programme this year.

We are now excited to promote a growing number of virtual opportunities that students can get involved with. A wide range of companies are offering experiences ranging from insight days to 10-hour interactive programmes that will be delivered to students virtually at home. Many of these are taking place in the February half term and students are encouraged to apply now.

Work Experience is a fantastic opportunity for students to find out about the world of word, what a certain industry is like and how they might get involved. As well as offering insight, taking up an opportunity like this can make a fantastic addition to a CV or college application.

To get on board, students and parents can browse opportunities then register and apply online, directly with Springpod or Speakers for Schools. Note that when applying through speakers for schools there will be an initial referral to us so we can approve the placement.

It is important to know when applying for virtual work experience that students are committing to take part online and outside of school time and that these experiences are not hosted by the school. Most of the online experiences below are during half term, some are shorter evening sessions, and many are recorded to give flexibility in viewing.

Thank you for taking the time to look and we hope you can share this with your son or daughter.

Mr Henry
