Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome you to The Durrington High School Community! This year, we are working hard to ensure our Year 6s get the best possible transition to high school and hope to meet as many of the children as possible before September. With summer term now well underway, we wanted to give you an update with some key dates surrounding our transition process. The current key dates are as follows:
- Wednesday 1st May, 9am-10am: Coffee morning for new parents (please see email & sign up using below link)
- Wednesday 8th May, 9am-10am: Coffee morning for new parents (please see email & sign up using below link)
- Wednesday 15th May, 9am-10am: Coffee morning for new parents (please see email & sign up using below link)
- W/B 20th May: Year 7 team to visit children in larger feeder schools
- Wednesday 22nd May, 9am-10am: Coffee morning for new parents (please see email & sign up using below link)
- Monday 27th May- Friday 31st May: Half term
- W/B 3rd June: Year 7 team to continue to visit children in larger feeder schools
- W/B 3rd June: Transition evening activity events will take place (details to follow)
- W/B 10th June: Transition evening activity events continue to take place (details to follow)
- W/B 10th June: Smaller feeder schools meeting opportunity (details to follow)
- Wednesday 3rd July: New intake day (children in school all day) & evening event for parents
Dates are subject to change and we will send out any further dates of events when necessary. We will send out more detail regarding certain events, closer to the time. Please keep an eye out for these communications as some events may require you/your child to sign up. If you have further queries, we encourage you to discuss these with us at the above events, or alternatively, email: transition@durring.com. Please note, we aim to reply to emails within 48 hours where possible.
On another note, please be aware that all communications will be sent via email to the email address you provided on your application to county, when you originally applied to Durrington High. Changes or additions to this can be made at the start of term, when you will be provided with access to ‘Arbor’- our school system. Alternatively, please keep an eye on our web page, which we will regularly update with any communications sent out.
