Dear Parent/Carer
Year 10 Worthing College Taster Half Day
To support your child with their post 16 options we have worked closely with Worthing College to obtain a half day experience. This offers them a chance to attend Worthing College for half a day on Thursday 6th July. Students will be able to select a morning or afternoon session where they can pick two subject areas to try out. As well as sampling their chosen subject areas they will be able to explore the college and find out what it would be like to study there. They will be in school for the other half of the day.
The taster sessions will be led by College staff and your child will be able to choose from thirteen subject areas. Places for each subject will be allocated by the College on a ‘first come first served basis’ so we advise booking now to avoid disappointment. The link for them to register and book their session is below and we would encourage you to support your child with these bookings. The links will also be sent to your child via Arbor this week.
Please note that GCSE DT students have a mock exam in the morning, so should only book the afternoon session. GCSE media students have a mock exam at 12.00 so should only book the morning session. We will arrange for media students to sit their exam later that day if they have attended the morning session at college.
Students will be expected to make their own way to Worthing College and back to school on this day. The careers team will be based at Worthing College throughout to welcome them and offer support. Further details on the logistics of this day will follow in due course.
How to book a session
Please help your child book either the morning or afternoon session and choose the subject choices they would like to experience. The morning and afternoon sessions are identical in the subject areas they offer. Students should only book the morning or the afternoon. They should not book both.

Students should wear school uniform at this event. We will send out a reminder of these arrangements the week before along with any final information.
Please ensure your child books their place up as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
