Yr 10 assessment week timetable

Dear Parent/carer,

I am writing to update you with the plans we have over the coming weeks to further support your child. Your ongoing support will be invaluable and we are so proud of year 10 as they continue to work hard in their remote lessons. The majority have shown an exemplary attitude and commitment to remote learning.  An important part of being successful in their GCSE courses is the regular experience of assessment and feedback. Assessments help inform the student and teacher of where any gaps in their learning are, so that future teaching can address these. Although our current situation means they cannot take place in the usual way, we will be having a remote yr. 10 assessment week starting the 1st March. During this week students will sit an online assessment in each of their subjects.

Although we understand there will be some challenges to work through, the aim of the week is to give students a tangible focus to work towards. They will also be given additional feedback to inform the next stage of their learning. Following this, we aim to hold a remote year. 10 parent/carers consultation evening on the 24th March.

Please see below an outline of events:

8/2 Timetable and assessment criteria in each subject sent to parents/carers and students.Revision tips sent to parents/carers and students.
15/2 HALF TERM
22/2 Expectations reminder sent.
1/3 ASSESSMENT WEEK
8/3 Feedback week- 1 lesson per subject where students will be given their score and specific feedback.
24/8 Yr. 10 remote parents/carers consultation evening.

The usual timetable for year 10 will be suspended during assessment week. This means there will be no timetabled remote lessons that week, only their assessments. More information regarding how this will take place, the assessment timetable, what will be assessed in each subject and how we will support all students will be sent next week.

If you have any questions or need any support please do not hesitate to contact myself or your child’s company team.

Yours sincerely

Mrs S Temple
