Year 11 Letter

Dear Parent/Carer

Last week there was a lot to take in. It was hard for us all to hear that Year 11 would not be returning this week and that GCSE exams in their usual format would not be happening in the Summer. Your ongoing support is invaluable and we are so proud of our Year 11 as they continued to work hard in their online lessons. We are all waiting to hear and see what the potential assessments will be this summer but making the most of each and every lesson is fundamental for each student so that they put themselves in the best position possible.

Clearly the mock assembly and giving out of results cannot happen in the way we had planned. Instead I will do a recorded message to Year 11, results will be e-mailed and posted, students will be able to speak to their company teams live on the day and they will be given the opportunity to book a conversation with a member of staff about their results and next steps. More information regarding how this will take place will be sent next week.

The mock results are a crucial tracking point and are by no means their final GCSE grade. We are waiting to be informed by OFQUAL of what assessments will be, but as mentioned before, it is imperative that students continue with their excellent engagement to the online lessons so that they do not fall behind with their learning and can continue where they left off when we have the opportunity to welcome them back.

For those students who are sitting a BTEC Digital IT examination in February, the examination board are currently stating that this is still scheduled but they will send us further guidance in due course.  As soon as we have that guidance we will update you and the students.

If you have any questions or need any support please do not hesitate to contact myself or your child’s company team.

Yours sincerely

Mrs S Temple
