U15 girls Futsal team progress to the Southern finals

The U15 Girls Futsal team have continued their earlier success and progressed to the Southern area finals after beating Seaford Head 5-4 in the Sussex final last week. It was a tight game against a very tough team that included 2 players who represent Wales at International level. The 5 a-side game is fast moving, includes smaller goals and is played indoors with a heavier ball.

The team comprises Amelia Lovelock, Georgia Upperton, Katelon Goldsmith, Keely Taylor, Phoebe Lindup, Grace Watkins and Mia Faris. They played excellently as a team with Grace scoring a hat trick and Katelon getting the other 2 goals. The player of the match was awarded to Georgia for an outstanding performance at centre back.

The team will now head to Bedford on 20th March to represent Sussex in the Southern area finals. If they win there they will go on to represent the South of England in the National finals. Already such a huge achievement, we wish them luck later this month. Watch this space!
