The teaching techniques that teachers use in the classroom are too important to be left to chance. Children get one chance of education at school, so it is essential that we ensure our teaching is as effective as possible. It is for this reason that Durrington High School has adopted an evidence informed approach to teaching and all other aspects of our work. Rather than just relying on what we think works, we look to the research evidence and use this to shape our practice.
With this in mind, we are delighted to be designated as one of twenty two Research Schools across the country, as from September 2017. We see this as a great opportunity to work closely with the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) and the Institure for Effective Education (IEE). This will allow us to work collaboratively with a wide network of other schools and support them to become more engaged with educational research.
