Our vision is to ensure DHS is a kind and caring community. At the heart of things, and what is most important, is people caring for one another; being kind. Kindness grows trust, friendship, and a common sense of community.
Through a range of activities we will nurture those conditions that grow kindness to build a more caring and equitable community. Developing the DHS principle of kindness we have launched our “12 Days of Kindness Advent Calendar”.
As we continue to embrace the DHS principle of kindness, we thought we would like to do something a bit different during the festive period. The student leadership decided on the “12 Days of Kindness”. The idea being that every day in the run up to the end of term (like an advent calendar) we reveal an act of kindness that we would like the staff and students to consider during that day. Every day we will “open” the advent calendar and this will reveal an act of kindness.
We are also continuing with the annual DHS tradition of Christmas Hampers. This year we are collecting for the Worthing Homeless Churches Project and the Jubilee Church Food Bank. We are asking students to bring in one item each to go into the hampers. Both charities require non perishable food items.
We would also like to invite you to our annual Carol Service which will take place at St. Andrew’s Church, Tarring on Tuesday 12 December 2017 at 6:30pm. We would like to invite you to join with us in celebrating Christmas, our place in the local community and the talents of our students. If you wish to attend this event please let the main reception know so tickets can be allocated.
Through our ‘Be Kind’ campaign at DHS we aim to inspire all members of our community to go beyond their best.
We are one team, one school and one community and together we can do amazing things.
